Tax Freedom Day

Today is my own, personal tax freedom day, the anniversary of the day I finally had enough and quit paying the darn taxes they placed on every pack of freaking cigarettes I bought. Back then, 10 dollars a carton for the cheap stuff I usually smoked. Today, five bucks a PACK to commit slow suicide.

Now I don't pay those taxes at all, and haven't since this day in 1997. I suppose I should feel bad for all the poor, innocent kids who aren't getting whatever it was the government was pretending they were going to buy for them with my tax dollars, but I don't.

Sorry, kids!

  2. Why thank you! Now if I could get some of my other unhealthy addictions under control...
