The Warrior Dilemma

I'm going to write about an issue very near and dear to my heart here. I have my reasons for talking about it today and this is probably not going to be a very funny article, so I hope you bare with me, dear reader. I am a former soldier, as are most of my friends. I like to think I am better adjusted than most men who have seen war, but I know there are men that have come back with more of themself intact than I did. I'm not saying that for pity, but it is an observation that colors everything I am going to go in to.

WALKINGDEAD'S DEEP THOUGHTS

  • Thanks to bill Cosby and hulk hogan two of my major childhood role models are now pariahs... who's next, bill Paxton?

  • I'd really like to know what goes on in some peoples brains, not everyone's... just some people.

  • every time I hear about an atheist convention, I wonder how many of the attendees get the irony.

  • I think we're starting to put too many fallible people into infallible status.

  • I don't like the idea of slut shaming, not because I don't believe in sluts. But because I revere them they perform a very important service and it is integral to the American spirit, just as integral as apple pie baseball the bald eagle and entrepreneurs

  • Ok if Marco rubio uses a parody of ruby soho as his campaign song I'm gonna have to vote for him.

  • ok, I'm just gonna say it... I don't believe Kanye West is talented. he's the Nick Cage of music.

  • just once I'd like to use the sentence. "I drank too much at work today".

  • I'd like to start doing book reviews... but not on the words inside the book. like just review the cover art and the binding and smell of the ink and paper.

  • the fastest way to get me to look at something is title it "time travel".

  • So after much consideration I've decided to come out of the closet. I identify as a multi millionaire. I've been poor all my life but it just never felt right. I would see people like JR Euing on Dallas when I was a kid and I thought something was just off... like I should be that guy, and not the poor kid in Detroit who's parents have to share a car. so with the help of my therapist I'm going to start making the transition to a millionaire. I hope you can still accept me.

  • As much as I hate Chicago... that city has turned out some amazing punk bands over the years. its like finding a single standing building after being ravaged by war.

  • We should change the phrase "on the the right side of history" to "on the right side of public Opinion at the time".

  • In all honesty, I just did this so I could see if my log in credentials still work. Good thing Keln is so freakin lazy.

Walkingdeads Deep Thoughts: June 6th, 20-13

  • I considered becoming an optimist today but I figured;  what's the point?  I'm just gonna screw that up too.
  • Yesterday in a txt message, I almost got the best typo ever.  Keln won't let me post it.  Just know that if it was missing the letter "r" I would have done it anyway.
  • I really need to invest in a teleprompter
  • Much like revenge, hummus is best served cold.
  • If you think you had a bad day today, or ever do, just remember this.  in some alternate universe somewhere, you and I are married.  hope that brightens your day a little.

Walkingdeads Deep Thoughts: February 6, 20-13

  • So I bought a home brew kit.

I can't wait till I lose intrest after I find out how difficult bottling the beer really is.

  • I paid all my bills for the month already.

I can't do anything until March, but its February, so who want's to do anything anyway?

  • You know I used to hate Thin Lizzy.

Now I just don't mind them.

  • You learn a lot about yourself by realizing the things you hate in other people.

  • I can't wait till next week when I get these

  • I'm pretty sure I'm going to start a kickstarter project just so I can buy coal and accelerate global warming.  this has been crazy.

        Oh wait.

  • Fun fact:

If you do a google image search for Krystal Lynn Hendric, my facebook banner image shows up.

  • I'm a woman's trench coat away from being Nick from the tv show "the new girl".

If you watch the show you'll understand, if you don't; whats wrong with you?

  • You would think that Noodle.org was some sort of non profit noodle consortium, but if you think that you would be wrong.

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: January 28 20-13

  • I haven't done one of these in a while.  Mostly because I haven't had many deep thoughts.

My mom bought 6 pounds of bacon for my birthday dinner.

It consisted of a burger made out of pork and bacon, with bacon on top.

Mac and cheese with bacon on top

A cake with maple bacon frosting, and bacon on top.

And a salad with no bacon.

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: December 3, 20-12

  • It's been a while.  I hope you missed me.
  • I'm thinking of going back to college.

I'm gonna major in revisionist history

  • I dare you to find a picture of Sirhan Sirhan without him looking crazy.

If you can do it I'll give you $10 American.

         or $8.72 Chinese

coincidentally they are both depreciating at the same rate.

  • For no reason at all I hate the word fresh.

Unless you use it in a sentence like.

        "Yo that's a fresh fade".

         I don't know why.

  • Fun fact:

These days its really hard to tell if a girl is a Muslim, or a hipster.

Where I live its about a 70-30 shot at hipster.

         In favor of Muslim.

That number is growing every day.

  • I gotta say, the more Assassins creed 3 I play, the less I like it.

         It's really really buggy.

But it takes place during the revolutionary war.

        So that's cool.

  • Why is pumpkin pie just a thanksgiving thing?  We really should eat it almost every day.

So if I watch love and other distasters while drinking straight vodka, how sad is that.

You know on a scale of 1-10?

      I'm asking for a friend.

  • Finally, A way for me to curb my urges of cannibalism without resorting to it.

  • Good Night

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: November 21, 20-12

  • So tomorrow is turkey genocide day.

This is finally a genocide that no matter what your race or religion is, you can get behind.

I like my genocide with mashed potato's.

Did you ever notice no one eats turkey eggs?

Quail, duck, chicken, ostrich all pretty common depending on what part of the world you're in.  I dont know anyone who does turkey eggs.

          Just something to think about.

  • It's too bad you cant get a degree in good intentions.  I could have a masters just based on life experience alone.

  • I got so bored today I accidentally started watching blues traveler video's on youtube. *shudders* I hope that never happens again.

Don't worry I found some NOISE BY NUMBERS to flush it out.

In all seriousness though, I do miss fat John Papper.  he made me feel better about myself.

  • I think I would be really good in a motorcycle gang, you know not with the drug dealing/gun running part... just the drinking and chasing biker chicks.
  • Good Night

Walkingdeads's Deep Thoughts: November 20, 20-12

  • I swear my life is just flashing before my eyes.

This time next week I'm gonna be 40.

I'm still 6 years and 2 months away from it.

But it's gonna be here next week.

  • I really need this 4 day weekend bad.

Worse than a hooker needs heroin to feed her children.

That's what they feed them right?

  • I started watching sons of anarchy.

         That show is so good.

It's like the Soprano's, but substitute Italians for motorcycles.

I can't believe people didn't make me watch this show sooner.

I have nobody to blame but all of you really.

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: November 16, 20-12

  • I have a busy weekend ahead of me.

Tonight I need to drink without pants, tomorrow I need to drink with pants at a house warming party.

  • So I got censored by Keln the other day.  I didn't do it on purpose, I thought it was funny and within the rules.

I at least stopped myself from using the alternate version of what @*^ stands for.

P.S. if you don't know don't look it up,  if you do know, you know how much restraint I used.

I wonder if this is gonna get censored?

What do you know, It did.

  • So as I reported on it earlier, Hostess is now liquidating.  We should all chip in and buy a few of the brands.

I think we owe it to ourselves to have a little piece of heaven over the next 4 years.

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: November 13, 20-12

  • So the Nexus 4 came out today and sold out in less than 30 minutes.
To the non technophiles that will mean nothing, but it proves something to me.

        America rules.

This isn't to sound jingoistic or anything.

Think of it like this,  When is the last time we stood in line for toilet paper, or bread?

And I don't mean 10 minutes for it to be your turn.  I mean because this is the only place you can get it and without this bread you're going hungry?

       See  what I mean?

For those of us old enough to remember all the bread lines that Communist Russia used to have, it show's we've come a long way.

Now I know we had soup lines during the depression, and Russia hasn't had them in years.

It's more to the point that we have grown to a point where we take for grantid basic services and expect more from our technology companies.

Are we perfect?  no, far from it.

Can it get worse?  yes, easily.

I just wanted to say that.
  • My buddy used to be in THIS band, if you like new wave style rock music you should check them out.
Honestly you take out that organ and they are just a good pop rock band, you add the organ and it's new wave.

       Funny how that works.

I got to open for them once by doing stand up.

It wen't about as well as bringing a shot gun into a bank.

no, I'm exaggerating, they would have been kinder to me at the bank.

  • I really don't like cats.

The hardest decision they ever make is where to lay down next.
  • Good night.

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: October 8, 20-12

  • So I'm starting to make my Christmas list out.
  • So you know if you wanna.
  • As a fun project I've wanted a media streaming computer for a while.  It looks like between donations from work people, and some really cheap computer purchases, I will be able to make one for under 300 bucks.  I'm starting with THIS case.
  • If anyone has a bootleg version of windows XP for me so I can do the upgrade to windows 8 let me know.
  • Rand Paul
  • Paul Ryan
  • Bobby Jindal
  • Chris Christie
  • Marco Rubio

All names of people I can't wait to hear from in 4 years.

I can't wait to be on a stage with these men debating issues.

Honestly this is just a short list for my VP choices.

I'm gonna start vetting them now.

Good Night

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: November 5, 20-12

  • So my Lauterbach went missing from work today.

  • If you don't know what one is don't feel bad.  I use mine all the time and still don't know what its good for.

  • The short answer is it's a debugger.  It also looks like THIS.

  • The long answer is mine costs $10,000 to replace.

  • We have no idea where it went.

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: November 2, 20-12

  • So its Friday

  • This is usually the day where I drink without pants on.

  • Unfortunately it's too cold for that.

  • I got hit with the “grammar hammer” today.

  • I didn't feel a thing.

  • After the last 33 years it's gonna take more than correcting my spelling to get under my skin.

  • For advice on how to get under my skin consult your local library, or any of my ex-girlfriends.

  • They are all terrible people.

  • Like Obama.

  • I don't think he's a terrible person.

  • He just sees the world differently than I do.

  • So I shaved for Movember.

  • I'm going to watch the Conan remake today.

  • I don't think it will be any good, but I gotta have netflix for something.

  • Good night

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: November 1, 20-12

  • I can't believe it's already November

  • It's true what they say, the older you get, the fast time is perceived.

  • That experiment was done before.  It holds true.

  • If you wan't to do it yourself try it at home like this.

  • Get a large group of children, a large group of adults, and a large group of old people.

  • Tell them to count to one minute in their head,   when they get to one minute they raise their hands.

  • the majority of old people will get to one minute before the majority of regular adults, and them faster than the children.

  • The actual time doesn't matter, its all about the perception of time.
  • SCIENCE!

  • Lets see the Daily Kos do an article about that.

  • I'm really excited for Tuesday.  I have no idea what I'm going to make for dinner, but it's gonna be great.

  • I'm not sure if I wan't to treat it like a drinking holiday or not... you know like Christmas.

  • I just found out about THESE guys today, they're pretty good.

  • All I've been reading about the past day or so is all the people who are angry because of power and gas outages due to Sandy.

  • I can understand being frustrated, and bummed because of this or that due to the hurricane.

  • But how can you be angry that you don't have power?  This isn't some random power outage that just hit a few blocks because a transformer blew.

  • This was  a storm caused by Al Gore that trampled the east coast.

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: Halloween! 20-12

  • I am happy to announce that at no point in my life did I ever like the band KISS

  • I almost bought a bottle of THIS today.  It would have been my early Christmas present to myself.

  • So far I'm happy to report.  No one has been killed because of THIS picture

  • It's just one of those funny things Christians do.  They get angry, but don't kill people over things.

  • So hurricane Sandy may cost 50 billion dollars.

  • With less than a week to go Obama needs to start brainstorming how this is George Bush's fault.

  • I remember a few years ago when venezuela had a bad earthquake they passed around a letter blaming it on Bush and the USA claiming we had a earthquake machine.
  • I really wish we had one.

  • I don't think we would waste it on South America.

  • Well maybe test it on South America.

  • So by the time you read this (at least on the east coast) Halloween should pretty much be over.

  • My costume this year was sexy guy not passing out candy because he went to a freinds house.

  • Just kidding, no one would call me sexy... sober at least.

  • everything else from that description is true.

Good night.

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: October 29, 20-12

  • I don't think I'm out of line for thinking that Obama had something to do with the world series.
Realistically if you think about it, the largest hippy community is San Francisco.

This is a thank you to hippies for voting for him, and continuing to vote for him.

Detroit's thank you was throwing a bunch of money at GM and Chrysler that they're never going to pay back and setting them up with conflicts of interest so large that new problems will arise 10 years from now.
  • Anderson Cooper's daytime talk show is getting canceled.  this begs the question;  He had a daytime talk show?
I don't know if this is customary or not.  Either way its stupid.

when it comes to propaganda films, or things of that nature its one thing.  When it comes to actual hard statistics that's completely another.

I can whip up a 90 minute movie exposing the pro's or cons of Obama no problem.  I just need to cherry pick things he's said and done.

When you look at an actual measure of job performance however.

It's kinda like telling your boss that you wont let him see your sales data until after he writes your review and you get a raise.
  • Good Night

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: October 26, 20-12

  •  So the tigers are down 0-2, so what.  So the Giants have all the momentum.  I don't care.

Thursday, October 25, 2012

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: October 25, 20-12

  • really good chance today will be the last good day this year... weather wise.

so if you need me, I will be on my porch drinking.

  • I don't know why it bothers me, but it really does when people use the word "things" as another use for container.

for example. "Do you like bacon"? "yes I have 3 things of bacon in my refrigerator".

you have 3 packages, or containers of bacon. you don't have 3 things of bacon. bacon is a noun, so technically it is a thing, but that's not right.

  • I want to punch Angel Pagan so bad

OOOOHHHHH I will use my fists

ok, the apple app store is the stupidest thing since stupid was invented.

          I hate it so much.

  • Game 2 is tonight... GO TIGERS!

I'm still serious about the San Francisco ban

I'm gonna start building a fence

Keln can I borrow $342,000 for a fence?

  • I couldn't write about the biggest Obama story today because it has a bad word in it.

I could have just changed it to "he's a house sitter"... but I don't think it would have the same impact.

We need to have an NSFW day.  Like one day a month where we're not bound by these draconian laws.

I mean its the internet.  there are worse things than me using slang terms for my boy parts.

  • Good Night

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: October 24, 20-12

  • I prefer the hamburger
  • I'm ok with the roast beef
  • Under no circumstances do I want the calamari
  • My job actually made me work today.  What a bunch of jerks
I really hate it when that happens.  Don't they know I need 2-3 hours a day for blogging?

Keln should really have a talk with them

  • By the time you're able to read this, the world series should have started.
          GO TIGERS!!!!!

Giants fans need not read any further.

          Or ever.

Seriously here at Nuking Politics we do not care for the company of San Francisco fans.

          Any sport.

Unless SF has a curling team.  I can cheer for anybody's curling team.

It is the most regal sport of all time
  • Obama challenged the press to find his flip flops, spoiler alert they did.
  • Yesterday my eyeballs felt like they were going to explode.  That would have sucked because I would have gotten eye goop all over the place and I wouldn't be able to see anymore.
  • one day I'm going to make an honest woman out of you.

And by that I mean I'm going to get you to stop lying all the time.

  • Good Night
