Walkingdead's Deep Thoughts: October 5, 20-12

  • So tomorrow I have to teach a bunch of late 20 somethings how to play dungeons and dragons.

I never thought I would be doing that.

         but I am.

If you're curious I'm going to be using 3.5 rules because I may be a nerd, but I'm also a nerd elitest.

I started with 2.0 and love them, but its been far too long, and 3.5 is really the superior rule set.

  • We can go back and forth on how much of an effect social media is having on this race; but has anyone ever changed their opinion based on a bumper sticker?

Did you ever see a cute girl in an SUV with a "women for Mitt" sticker and change your mind?

Conversely, did you ever see a "grave robbers for Obama/Biden" and think, "he's got some good         ideas, why not"?

  • I know a lot of people are trying to downplay the debate: but you know what?

Mitt totally destroyed him.  I'll say it if Keln wont.

  • I'm not economist but I'm pretty sure to get to that 7.8% unemployment number that subtracted the people who found jobs, subtracted the people who went off unemployment, and subtracted another 2-3 hundred thousand people just because

It's pretty crafty book keeping but it works.

  • Good night

I'm not downplaying the debate at all...it was a huge massacre. My point wasn't that Romney didn't, technically, destroy Obama. It was that Obama was just so ridiculously out-matched, that I just consider it an Obama fail, like all of his fails, more than a Romney beat-down.

A good analogy is this: imagine an NFL team...any NFL team, even the worst one...playing a pee wee football team. Say 3rd and 4th grader Pee Wee football. Romney was the NFL team and Obama was the 3rd and 4th grade Pee Wee team.

Romney might be a Super Bowl contender, or might be the bottom of the league. But Obama is a pee wee caliber player. So, of course there was a beat down. Was it because Romney is just so good? No. I'm not saying he isn't good, but that it's hard to tell when his opponent proved he had no business in a debate with a real professional like Mitt.
