State of the Union Address

Like everyone else here, apparently, I also refused to watch His Arrogance give another State of the Union Address. Because he's only really given one speech in his career, repeating it with slight variations, as inappropriate, I didn't feel I actually needed to watch. I expect he used some combination of the following devices and attacks:

1). Passive-Aggressive pathology: Set up a condition so perfectly benign that no one could possibly agree with it, then propose some insane solution and call your opponents crazy when they disagree. Example: "(condition) The children of America deserve a good education. (solution) Therefore, I propose we implant antennae in their brains and beam the information in via satellite, and (name-calling) we could get it done if only those obstructionist Republicans would come to the table."

2). False compromise: Set up an insane condition and then call for Republican compromise. Example: (condition) "I think  taxes should be raised to the post World War II rate of 95%, but I'm willing to compromise to a rate of 94% or 93%."

3). Flat-out Falsehood: Just lie like a rug. Example: "I believe in the right to choose." Yeah, like the right to choose not to participate in Obamacare. Like the right to choose to own a gun. Unless it's the right to choose to murder your own children, he has no belief in it.

4). Call on the ghost of Bin Laden. Example: "Sure unemployment's up,the price of gas is up and pretty much the cost of everything is up, but hey, Bin Laden is down!"

I expect the rest of the hour was taken up with democRats applauding and standing. And that's why I didn't watch. He has nothing to say that could possibly interest me, and his "soaring rhetoric" fails to inspire thrills up my leg, or anywhere else, and I feel no need to validate his ego nor do I want to spend any time watching him defecating on the Constitution.

  1. I didn't watch it either. Wouldn't it be funny if he actually said something interesting and we all missed it?

    1. Eh, someone somewhere would pick up on what he said, and we'd get it eventually. The chances of that, though, are practically nil...

    2. Poor Arik :( I wish you would have accepted the cookies. Cookies make everything better. Today I bought myself heart shaped dunkin donuts, then I bought a bag of dark chocolate chips which I haven't decided what I'm going to make into yet, and now I'm eating my lunch. Relaxing. Reading NP. :)

  3. Great blog, Lrrr! You're spot on about Obama. I just can't stomach listening to the idiot. I was listening to Quinn and Rose this morning on the way to work, and they were breaking down the bs in his address. I almost changed the station. I'm so sick of him exploiting tragedies to further his agenda!

    1. I think he's such a disgusting human being that he wouldn't stop at exploiting tragedies to further his goals,I believe he would create them. Don't believe me? There are 300 dead Mexicans who might beg to disagree, if his administration hadn't aided and abetted their murders.
