Jailed For Exercising the Right to Choose

You might have missed it, because it didn't seem to get the same national attention and follow-up as the others, but yesterday T.J. Lane, the Larry of last years unholy triumvirate of nut-job whack-doodle white guys who decided to take potshots at unarmed people in helpless positions, received far less than his due yesterday, receiving three consecutive life sentences.

Lane walked into a school in Chardon, Ohio, and shot six students, three fatally, on February 27, 2012.

I really think this is a miscarriage of justice. I mean, after all, what he chooses to do with his body should be his business. Right?


I know I'm going to irritate a lot of "Progressives" by saying this. They're going to be all, like, "But there were other people involved that got hurt." And I'm gonna be all, like, "That's my point, exactly."

This guy was nuts. Enn-Vee-Tee-Ess NUTS. You can tell, because when the court commenced the sentencing hearing he unbuttoned his dress shirt, and removed it, revealing a white t-shirt with the word "KILLER" scrawled on it in marker. Then, before he was sentenced, he decided (against advice of counsel) to give a little statement. He faced the families, held up his right hand and told them that that was the hand he shot their kids with, and now he. um, pleasures himself with it, while thinking about the shootings. He then flipped them a certain finger and dropped an F-bomb on them.

He sat, smiling, as the families told him of the pain he had caused them, laughing from time to time. This guy really is evil, and as he was 17 at the time, can't be given the execution he so richly deserves.

BUT.

Again, this is what he chose to do with his body, which Progressives tell us is an inviolable right.

How is a fruitcake who flips out and decides to go kill a few kids at random that much worse than than the three thousand mothers who every day willingly walk into an abortion clinic and kill their own offspring?

One shows that perhaps we could focus on taking better care of the mentally ill. The other shows that perhaps we need to focus on taking better care of our nation's own moral illness.
