It's Time to Move on

Its difficult to write something funny after you read this, so I'm not even going to try.

We have been in Afghanistan for about 10 years now, its time to leave.

As a conservative I've often felt that we have a duty and obligation to help spread freedom across the globe to whomever (or is it who ever?) wants it. This is why I got quite indignant towards Obama in regards to Iran a few years ago. Also, why I continued to get angry with Egypt and Libya. All three of those countries wanted freedom, they demonstrated, marched, and; shall I say it? Occupied sections of their respective countries.

Afghanistan and Iraq are two countries that just aren't ready for that responsibility. Make no mistake about it, it is a responsibility. We all have a duty to at least have a passing interest in what our politicians are doing to/for us.

This may be a bad example, but we have all either been, or been with that person who took us/them for granted. The same goes for the two above countries. Its time to cut the cord, and just walk away. We shouldn't even look back.

I'm sure after a few weeks we'll get a few phone calls, maybe a txt or two. Who knows, maybe on a Friday night when were out with England, Afghanistan will just happen to be at the same restaurant with Syria. You know, its not like they care about each other, they're just showing up to try and make us jealous. We need to hold strong though.

Eventually they will get the hint. After all, we had no business being with both of them at the same time. Its just, well it felt right at the time. Chances are it's our fault, its hard to juggle both of them, but you know, at the time Afghanistan didn't look like it was serious, and didn't mind that we were playing the field.

of course Afghanistan was just saying that, testing us to find out what our limits were.  Afghanistan had a lot of daddy issues to work out,  whats worse is we knew their past.  Didn't stop us though.

Look, I get it. We all made mistakes, but when it came time to commit we tried our hardest, and they both acted like they didn't care. Its time to move on.

By the way, remember when I said I wasn't going to try and be funny?  Well I kinda did, but I bet you didn't even notice.
