• Well, it's official, Romney has picked Paul Ryan to be his Vice President. I can't say that was my top choice, but I like the guy. And he's not some stuffy, boring establishment politician like I thought Romney might pick.
The cool thing about this ticket is, for the first time that I can think of, neither the guy running for President or the guy running for Vice President were ever practicing lawyers. Mitt has the degree, but went into business, and Paul Ryan went to a "normal" college, not some hoity toity place like Harvard and actually studied economics.
So, yeah, a businessman and an economist. If that isn't a great match to run during an economic downturn, I don't know what is.
But I am still a bit disappointed that The Rock was not tapped to be VP. He would have run the Senate with an iron fist. Literally.
• Janet Napolitano is being accused of running the DHS like some kind of frat house where women rule and men are treated like garbage.
Well, when you put an obvious feminist in charge of something, what do you expect to happen? This is kind of like when you put obvious racists from minority groups in charge of something...they tend to treat white people like crap and give favors to minorities like them.
It just demonstrates the double standard of the left. Racism is only wrong when it is a white person being racist, and sexism is only wrong when it is a male doing it. Think about it. A black man can run around saying he is for "black power", and people just nod there heads and go along with it. But if some white guy says he is for "white power", then people easily see that he is a racist.
And a woman can claim to be a feminist, and that is considered a positive thing for some reason. But when a guy says or demonstrates that he is a misogynist, then everyone clearly sees that he is just a sexist and a bigot.
Racism is racism, and sexism is sexism. It doesn't matter what the gender or "race" of the person is who is practicing it.
