A Good Read

I was referred to a really good article: The Divinely Inspired Constitution by Dallin H. Oaks.

It discusses the idea that our Constitution was inspired by God, that though the Founders weren't writing the actual words of God, they were given inspiration from him in the ideals and practices the Constitution embodies.

He's a well-respected lawyer and a former Utah Supreme Court Justice, and even though he's one of those Crazy Mormons, it's well worth a read.

    1. They sure are!

I was impressed. I didn't realize that it's part of Mormon doctrine that the Constitution and the Founding of the U.S. were divinely inspired by God.

I've always believed that, but they're the only church I've ever found that makes it part of their official doctrine.
