The Zimmerman Trial: A Quiz

The Zimmerman case has been discussed and rediscussed so often that I have begun to try and shut it out. I believe that it was taken to trial not to determine the guilt or innocence of a man, but rather to extend the length and breadth of their platform: "Whites are Racist".

This could be an entire post about how those crying racism are pots calling the kettles black...or perhaps pots calling the *insert something that isn't black* black...but whatever. I'm tired of it. Zimmerman was acquitted. Done.

But something I saw this morning was able to recapture my interest. It was a questionnaire about the Zimmerman trial that presented details of the case and asked whether or not you had previously heard about them. I saw several things that were absolutely new to me:

Have you ever seen these photos?

They are of Zimmerman on the night of the incident.

Have you seen these photos of Trayvon?

These photos were taken 9 days before Trayvon was killed.

Were you aware of the fact that Zimmerman took a black girl to his high-school prom?

Were you aware of the fact that, in the months just before the incident, the gated community had experienced several burglaries and break-ins and that, in several of the cases, there were witnesses who said the robbers were young black men?

There are many other intriguing questions, figures, and pictures in the questionnaire. Go and take the full quiz here.

What was the most surprising thing you learned from this?

  1. Considering I went in thinking Zimmerman was railroaded because the President acted stupidly, and a few race hustlers took up the cause, all aided and abetted by a fawning media, nothing at all really surprises me, anymore.
