Space Age Travel?

Do you guys remember this?

I remember hoping we'd have something like it when I grew up.

Well, I'm mostly grown up ...sorta...and guess what???

They're building this now...

in Tel Aviv, and they're planning another one in Boulder, CO. It's called "SkyTran" and it's a personalized system of mass transit. The 2 person pods magnetically levitate on rails 20 feet above the ground. When you want to go somewhere, you use your smartphone to enter a station and destination and it shows up nearly instantly.

Then you travel directly there at about 150 mph. They claim it will cost users more than bus fare, but less than a taxi. The system was codeveloped by NASA engineers and the company SkyTran. 

I want a ride! Sounds like fun!
