Sharing the Wealth

Not political, but my kids were at Cub Scout Day Camp today, and there was a bird dive-bombing people at the swimming pool. Turns out it had a nest in the doorway to one of the changing areas.  It was one of what is, if not my all-time favorite, then at least top three. I'd never seen one so close, and rarely have I ever seen one sitting still.

So I took pictures and thought I would share. It was very protective of the nest, so it was really hard to get a good shot, and the awesome one I did get was blurred, but the one on the wall is almost kind of artsy, so I wanted to pass it on, because I thought it was kind of pretty.

I don't know if there were eggs in the nest, but the momma bird's protectiveness certainly suggests there were.

  1. Ahh, the elusive North American One Of What Is If Not My All-Time Favorite Then At Least Top Three's. I've never seen one of those. Or even heard of them...
