Just Take It For Granted...

Here's a quote from Mrs. Obama, made at a recent DC fundraiser:
“Just think about how different our country looks to children growing up today,” she said. “Think about how our kids take for granted that a black person or a woman can be President of the United States….They take it for granted that for the first time in history, there are three brilliant women serving on our Supreme Court,” she said. “They take for granted that their president will end hurtful policies like ‘don’t ask, don’t tell,’ they’ll speak out for gay marriage."
I hardly know where to start.

The insidious message planted in this statement seems to be: …Don't examine what's happening. You can take it for granted, Barack's got your back.  Let us do the thinking…

This rant by Mrs. Obama is probably the single most deluded, politically driven piece of claptrap I have heard in my entire life. And considering what we've seen in the past 6 years, that's saying a lot.

She assures us that we can "take for granted" the virtue of the changes Mr. Obama has wrought thus far. Something she herself appears to take for granted is that nobody has noticed that his efforts have left us weaker, broker, and more culturally divided than we have ever been. By intent, he has transformed our military into a politically correct shadow of it's former self.  The problem is not and never has been the troops, the problem is their Commander In Chief.  His fumbling has resulted in America being less respected by the rest of the world, and more vulnerable to our enemies. As far as his Supreme Court appointments, at least one of them (Justice Sotomayor), appears to advocate the imposition of international law, rather than strict adherence to the constitution. What the fact that she's a woman has to do with it is not clear. As a consequence of Mr. Obama's presence in the white house, our children's future is less secure than it has ever been in the nation's history.

The only thing he seems to take seriously is his golf game, but then, I've seen his backswing…

Exactly what part of this nightmare does she think we should "take for granted"? What this country will look like after two more years of Mr. Obama's efforts to transform us is anybody's guess. The success we will have in restoring the nation is not something any of us should take for granted.

Something else implied in her statement is that any rejection of Mr. Obama's agenda is a racially motivated rejection of the idea of a black president. This constant attempt to conflate the two has grown very tedious. His supposed efforts to assist African Americans have led to higher black unemployment, more dependence on government handouts, and fewer two parent households. Mrs. Obama and others seem to want us to forget Dr. King's message.   We haven't.   Our problem with Mr Obama has never had anything to do with what color he is, it has everything to do with the content of his character.

Maybe Mrs. Obama should just focus on meddling with what schoolchildren eat for lunch. Maybe a nice long vacation is in order. No doubt, there is plenty of taxpayer money to fund it. That's something else she seems to take for granted.

  1. What does Sotomayor being a woman have to do with it? It has everything to do with it, just as Obama being black does. The reason the Democrats aka "Ye Olde Racist Bigot Party" likes to put minorities and women into positions of power is because they can openly push the progressive agenda without being criticized to the degree that they should be.

Whenever one of their darlings, like Sotomayor, is criticized, they automatically respond by labeling it racism or sexism. So that becomes the dialogue, and not the views being criticized, because progressives can't afford real national debate on their ideologies. They know how few people really believe in what they are trying to accomplish.

  2. Sotomayor is a mediocrity, as are Kagan and Breyer. Their only credentials are their uteri and their tired liberal views.

Don't forget Ruth Biddy Ginsberg, who also advocated for international law: http://opiniojuris.org/2010/08/02/justice-ginsburg-on-using-foreign-and-international-law-in-constitutional-adjudication/

Sadly, the international law most likely to be adopted is Sharia, simply because the lunatic left wants to take the guns away from everyone else.

Then they'll find out what true patriarchy looks like.

  3. It seems to me that the black man that is currently POTUS and his woman take for granted that a black man or woman can be POTUS. What else would explain policies coming from them that insure another won't be elected for two or three generations?
