Hate to Say I Told You So

No I don't.

I proposed a massively expensive plan to allow Texas to secede from the United States, and allow the rest of us sane folks to move there at government expense. I figured the left in this country would be more than willing to spend even more money that they didn't have in order to get rid of right-thinking and Right-leaning people.

I was right.

And she is, according to herself, one of the leading progressive voices in America.

Is there any question as to why CNN's ratings are in the toilet?

Comprehensive Immigration Reform

Well, since the debate is heating up on Capitol Hill as to how to bolster the democRat party by giving them a new underclass to pander to, or, rather, legalizing the underclass they already pander to, I think it might be time to look at ways we can "fix" our "broken" immigration system.

We have millions of undocumented immigrants pouring across our borders, committing crimes (other than the obvious: immigrating illegally), causing havoc with our public services, and sucking up taxpayer funds for free health care. not to mention the threat to national security and all sorts of other ills too numerous to mention here.

The debate is heating up: should we grant amnesty, deport the lot of them, or throw them into huge arenas in a giant free-for-all fight to the death?

I have a solution.

Comprehensive Firearms Reform

Today's society seems to be divided into two distinct groups regarding guns and gun control: gun grabbers and gun nuts. There are very few people who fall into the neutral "don't give a crap" category.

With the presence of so-called "assault weapons" allowing lunatics to kill large numbers of people with relative ease and the convenience of not having to reload very often. and the propensity of these lunatics to take their weapons into so-called "gun-free zones," it is obvious something needs to be done.

I have a solution.

Comprehensive Welfare Reform

I have a feeling that my Comprehensive Immigration Reform is not likely to be taken seriously by the intelligentsia in this country. You know, the people who want to bring you the Trillion Dollar Coin as a panacea to all our fiscal woes. So, like any rational person, and John Boehner, I have a Plan B: Comprehensive Welfare Reform.

The left in this country seems to think that unless someone is given all the creature comforts they desire, they are being treated unfairly. Can’t afford a house? Here’s a house for you! Can’t afford to feed your 12 kids and 6 cats? Here’s a debit card, loaded with cash! Can’t afford a cell phone? Here’s an Obamaphone! Can’t afford cable TV? Oh those rotten Republicans!

They want to paint those who think the welfare system is broken as uncaring, as unchristian. But, in my opinion, the Bible calls us as individuals to charity, not to force Joe down the street to do it. And it’s not charity if you’re giving it to people who are capable of work, but who are not willing to work. It’s a scam and it’s buying votes with public money.

Back when I was growing up, there was a stigma to being on welfare: it meant you weren’t pulling your own weight. It didn’t mean you were a bad guy, or that you had no worth as a human being, but that you were at a down point and needed help to get back up. Which you wanted to do as quickly as possible.

Today, the government is advertising, “Food stamps! Get your food stamps! You don’t have to work, just vote the left way! Get your food stamps here!” There are people using high tech equipment that I wish I could afford to sing paeans to the EBT card. They’re not trying to get people off welfare, they’re recruiting!

Remember that old aphorism about the difference between giving a man a fish and teaching him to fish? The left doesn’t want to teach anyone to fish, they want to give them YOUR fish and teach them how to extract more. The current system is immoral, untenable and unsustainable.

I have a solution.

Comprehensive Emigration Reform

(Update:Welcome, Moon Nukers! If you like what you see, feel free to check out the rest of the blog.)

With the election a fading and unpleasant memory, I think Republicans ought to look toward a compromise position on emigration. A lot  has already been said about the flood of undocumented immigrants crossing our borders and causing chaos and consternation in Washington, but not much has been said about the sad lack of a flood of emigrants, just itching to get out. I aim to fix that.

While most of us are likely immigrants or the descendants of  immigrants (and historically, that includes EVERYBODY: I'm looking at you, Bering land bridge crossers), and most of us have no problem with people coming to America to escape oppression and build a better life, we do tend to have a problem with those who come here to exploit the system, collecting welfare benefits unto the nth generation, especially when we have so many ungrateful slobs already here doing the same thing.

I have a solution.
