individualizing groups of things

So I’m not sure if Keln is dead, in jail, or a combination of the two but I figured I would take this time (since he’s not looking) to make a quickie post about something that’s been bothering me for a while.

I don’t know how many of you know this, but gay people are more than just gay people.  It’s true, maybe you should sit down and breathe while you let this all sink in.  Also, black people are more than just black.  Same thing with Mexicans, Arabs, transgender’s and women.  All of these groups are made up of, (are you ready for this?) individuals.

Its really easy for our liberal friends to break down these groups to a single issue, its probably the best way to do it from a political standpoint.  However, it really is disingenuous to think that all a gay person cares about is gay marriage or Mexicans with immigration or worse yet.  Women and birth control, after all, we all know that women don’t need it because their husbands can provide that for them right? I’M JUST KIDDING ABOUT THAT PART CHILL OUT!

This is just something to think about next time you hear about these so called “political” topics.

Its just like I said the other day about Chick-fil-a.  Not every Christian is against gay marriage, but it’s a safe bet that their not for it.  At the same time, its not like every Christian is just going to vote for the guy who is more against gay marriage than the other guy.  They all care about different things.

Fun fact:  individuals within a voting block have literally hundreds of different things that matter to them depending on the individual.
