NASA is one of the few government things that I think we're all best off by funding...like defense, or the courts.
In fact, after stripping most agencies and projects out of the government, I would then turn around and shower NASA with money and say "moon base, 10 years, go".
And I'd do the same with DARPA and say "four words: blaster rifles and lightsabers".
