How To Do Logic Good

The CBO, in their analysis of the fiscal impact of the proposed immigration reform bill, apparently believe that it will help reduce the federal budget deficit due to the added numbers of people in the workforce.  The problem with the deficit, and the economy, has nothing to do with too small a workforce, it has to do with redistribution schemes, governmental over-regulation and a bureaucracy that's out of control, led by someone who has no idea what he's doing.   So here is an equally brilliant logical analysis of two recent polls:

This morning Breitbart mentioned two polls, by CNN (here) "Almost Half Believe White House Ordered IRS to Target Tea Party",  and Gallup (here), "Less Than One Fourth of Americans Trust Newspapers"

Careful analysis of these two polls reveals that there are four different groups of people in the country who believe one of the following:

1. The White House is responsible for the IRS behavior, (50%) and the main stream media is lying about it, (75%)

2.  The White House is responsible for the IRS behavior, (50%)  and the MSM is telling the truth about it, (25%),

3.  The White House is not responsible for the IRS behavior, (50%)  and the MSM is lying about it, (75%),

4.  The White House is not responsible for the IRS behavior, (50%) and the MSM is telling the truth about it, (25%)

Since the total of these groups represent 400% of the population, that must mean that at least 200% of us believe at least one or more of those choices, and the other 200% must believe the other ones.

All of that, in turn, means three things:

1.  400% of the people in this country are completely bewildered by the things coming out of the White House and the MSM,

2.  Between the White House and the MSM, their ability to confound at least half of us (200%) with total nonsense explains how it is that Obama ever got elected to anything, and,

3.. I have to start getting more sleep, and it looks like I picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue.

I asked Senator Hank Johnson (D-GA) to confirm all this, and he assured me that I've got it right.  According to him, the risk here is that if one more person shows up with an opinion about these matters, the entire country will tip over and capsize. (see here)

Abraham Lincoln said "You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time".  If he was around today he might add, ..."and to fool 400% of the people for going on 5 years takes an army of amoral leftist manipulators who are experts at making up stuff, and one wannabe president to read it all off a teleprompter".

  1. I am curious if the CBO considered that many of the 12 million they want to let have citizenship will immediately jump on welfare, food stamps or some other nefarious social program costing the actual diminishing, working taxpayer of this Country twice as much as they currently pay. This is an issue about votes, and buying an election through granting promises that will destroy up.
