We're Still Here

Today, July 4th, is Independence Day, and in addition to a day off with family and friends, ski boats, sunburn, barbecues, fireworks and all, it's a day to take just a moment to celebrate our Freedom, to reflect on what it took to get here,  to assess the situation in which we presently find ourselves, and to think about where to go from this point forward.

George Washington:

“The time is now near at hand which must probably determine, whether Americans are to be, Freemen, or Slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their Houses, and Farms, are to be pillaged and destroyed, and they consigned to a State of Wretchedness from which no human efforts will probably deliver them. The fate of unborn Millions will now depend, under God, on our Courage and Conduct in the time to come"

Thomas Jefferson:

"Every government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone.  The people themselves, therefore, are it's only safe depositories"

John Locke:

"The actions of men are the best interpreters of their thoughts"

This was the message our leaders had for us 237 years ago, and America responded.  The same message is still out there Mr. Obama, but sadly you're not the one delivering it.  The message is being delivered daily by people like Thomas Sowell, Lloyd Marcus, Allen West and Mark Levin, and thousands of others.   This time the subject of the message is not King George.  This time it's about you sir.

When your arrogance first led you to believe you could replace this country's blessings with your vision of power, you neglected to observe that we started as a nation of Patriots, and we're still here.  There are those among us who are Americans only in the technical sense, but the rest of us will not submit.  The struggle that is coming will be for the benefit of them as well as for Patriots.  We're not going anywhere, and when your attempts to "change" the nation are finally done, you will have failed.  We know this to be true sir.  Our Liberty is given to us by the Creator, not by the government,  and we have a right and a duty to ourselves and our children to act in accordance with that authority.  We didn't come this far to abandon the sacrifices made by generations of others to the whims of your ego.  History will remember you as possibly the worst threat that this country ever encountered, and we will overcome it.

God Bless America.
