An Open Letter To WWII Vets

A word to the Patriots who participated in the Honor Flight from Mississippi that visited the National Mall, October 1, 2013.

You arrived in Washington yesterday to pay your respects at the WWII Memorial, the same day the government shut down, and the Mall was closed.  You were told the sacred Memorial that honors your service in WWII was off limits, because somebody decided it cost too much to keep it open.  Apparently, somebody decided that closing the Mall would be a good way to bring public pressure to bear on those who are trying to curb the skyrocketing national debt, or, more to the point, Obamacare.
It took you about five years to achieve Victory over the threat to this nation in Europe and the Pacific, but it took government bureaucrats over sixty years to build a monument to the sacrifices you made.

Back in 1945, the people who led this nation weren't afraid to use the word "Victory".

And when you got there to visit that Memorial, you were told that it was closed. Access was only made possible through the efforts of Congressmen Palazzo, (R-Miss), Steve King, (R-Iowa), and Congresswoman Bachmann, (R-Minn).

The leftists who are currently in control of the government don't seem to  understand Honor and Respect, and they don't understand what the rest of us have always known:  you preserved the Freedom that this country has enjoyed in all the years since that Victory.  Thank you.

If it weren't for your sacrifices, the government would be writing regulations, signing executive orders, and lying to us daily in German.

Because so many people allowed themselves to be fooled by the left, we're on the brink of losing everything you fought for.

But you all deserve to know that there are many thousands of us in every walk of life who understand the threat and we promise you that the America you fought for will not be surrendered without a fight.

Other Honor Flights will continue to arrive from other states on a weekly basis.   And as you know, November 10th is the Marine Corps birthday, (Semper Fi), and November 11th is Veteran's Day. If the government doesn't get through with their 'crisis' games by then, it will all get very interesting because thousands of us will be at the National Mall to pay our respects, and the government won't have any more success turning us away than they did you.

God Bless you, and God Bless America.
