His Brother's Keeper

I still find it amazing that Obama thinks the story of Cain and Abel suggests that we should be Our Brothers' Keepers. He even started an initiative by that name. I just think the Biblical imperative is an individual call to charity, not a call for the state to collectivize the process.


I also think he's kind of a hypocrite.

    I think you have made a mistake in translation..."brother" means "donor", and "keeper" is the equivalent of "recipient" in Obamaspeak.

      I think we could write a book on translating Obamaspeak into actual English. We could call it, I don't know, "1984" or something.

    There is a slain by the jawbone of a donkey line that should be applied to all the hopes some people had for Obama. But then Obama ain't the best person to lay a Biblical quote on for the denizens of the garden of needin'.
