• The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff apparently thinks that, if you are a veteran of the armed forces, you should just keep your mouth shut and be apolitical.
Huh?
#1 I don't take orders from you, buddy. I'm a civilian now.
#2 If there are any citizens who deserve their freedoms, including speech, it is people who served to defend those rights.
#3 Since YOU are still in the military, General, why don't you keep YOUR big mouth shut about what private citizens should or shouldn't do.

So get off your high-horse General. You're not the boss of me!
